The Foundation was established Dec. 9, 1988 following the merger of the Association of Missouri Dairy Organizations with the Missouri Dairy Association. The Foundation has two goals. One is to maintain and perpetuate a Dairy Hall of Honors to recognize outstanding leadership in the Missouri dairy industry including excellence of achievement among dairy cattle breeders. The second goal is to provide an archive for the preservation of records and memorabilia of the Missouri dairy industry in cooperation with the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
The business affairs of the Foundation are the responsibility of a Board of Trustees. Each Missouri dairy organization that is a Foundation member is entitled to name one trustee. The president of the Missouri Dairy Association and the unit leaders of the Divisions of Animal Science and Food Science, University of Missouri, shall serve as ex officio members of the Board of Trustees.
