Bill Wilberding

Bill was born in Dubuque, Iowa. He spent all his youth there and graduated from Loras College in Dubuque with a Bachelors of Art degree in Accounting.

Bill started his Dairy Industry career in 1981 at Swiss Valley Farms’ Dubuque plant as District Controller and was promoted to the Fluid Milk Division Controller in 1986 and moved to the Corporate office in Davenport, IA. In 1995, he was promoted to Dairy Division Controller over the Fluid Milk and Cheese Divisions. In 1997, he was promoted to Vice President of Finance, and in 1998, he was promoted to Vice President of the Fluid Milk Division.

In February 2002, Bill went to work for Prairie Farms Dairy as Corporate Internal Auditor of Operations. In this position he worked on Acquisitions and Special Projects and managed the Corporate Accounts Receivable Staff. In 2006, he was promoted to Director of Operations, a position where he was responsible for manufacturing and reducing and controlling cost in Prairie Farms Plants. He also started a management training program for plant personnel and took over responsibility for the Annual Production Meeting. After the acquisition of the Dubuque Plant, he was given responsibility for Aldi’s Sales and increased sales to make Aldi’s one of the largest customers for Prairie Farms. Bill also began focusing on Bulk Dairy Ingredient sales, costing, and pricing that has grown to a significant contributor to sales dollars, margins and production efficiencies. In 2014, Bill was promoted to Vice President of Operations and was responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency through implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices.

In 2019, Bill was promoted to his current position of Senior Vice President of Operations. In this role, he manages the Vice Presidents of Operations, the Cheese Division, Ice Cream Operations, Director of Quality, Director of Technical Services, Director of Safety and Vice President of Engineering.

Bill has served on several industry boards throughout his dairy career, including SECO & QCS Purchasing, where he retired in April 2021 as Chairman of the Board.

Bill and his wife Jill have been married for over 40 years and have three children Jenni, Amanda and Danny. Danny died from cancer at 27. They have three grandchildren Blaze, Zoey and Ella and another one on the way in late January 2022.
