Dairy has always been a major part of Randy Mooney’s background, and he has used his wealth of experience and knowledge to help shape the industry on local, state, and national levels.

As a longtime dairy farmer, Randy, his wife Jan, and a partner made their M&M Farm a pioneer in “dairy grazing.” They hosted a “Lunch and Learn” last year to highlight dairy grazing in Missouri. The Mooney’s live on a century farm, purchased by the Mooney family in 1850. Randy bought it from his father in 1981, the same year he and Jan were married. Their 24 year old daughter, Kristine, is a high school math teacher at Rogersville. They are members of the Harmony Baptist Church of Rogersville.

Jan says Randy is consumed with farming, serving on various dairy boards, and doesn’t have time for anything else!

Jerry Kozak, president of the National Milk Producers Federation, wrote the following about Randy: “I have been fortunate to work closely with Randy and to observe his leadership and passion for the people who work in the dairy industry and the cows that produce the milk. Even though he wears several hats in the leadership of national dairy organizations, Randy remains true to his roots in Missouri, and his achievements are a positive reflection on the upbringing he has received there.”

Steve Davis, Area Manager for DFA, wrote: “Randy Mooney is a man of integrity who works tirelessly on behalf of all dairy farmers. He strives to look out for his fellow dairymen.”

Ron Boyer, Randy’s neighbor in Fair Grove, Missouri, wrote that serving with Mooney on the State Milk Board for many years taught him that Randy understands the industry from the perspectives of the producer, dairy cooperative, processor, and consumer.

Having served on the National Milk Processor Education Program board with Randy, Gary Aggus, President of Hiland Dairy, wrote that Randy does a great job representing the industry.
