Eric Seifert
Eric was born and raised in Cameron, Missouri. As a teenager, he milked cows for a local farmer. Eric then attended Trenton Junior College and received an AS in Agribusiness.
After college Eric was employed in several different areas of agriculture. He worked for the University of Missouri dairy farm, Extension services, and the Missouri Health Department. In 1981, he was hired by Mid America Dairymen as a Field Representative in Chillicothe, Missouri. Over his tenure with Mid-Am and its merger to form Dairy Farmers of America, Eric served dairy producers throughout the state of Missouri, moving several times to different territories throughout the state, and therefore had a vast network of knowledge that he was able to utilize as his territories grew over the years. Eric also helped establish the Tri County Dairy Days for producers in his territory.
Eric was a member of the Missouri Dairy Fieldmen and Sanitarians, serving as past President. The Missouri Fieldmen and Sanitarians group, serves an active role in making sure industry allies can receive the information they need throughout the year to stay abreast on industry topics. He also served for many years as a Committee Member for the Tri-County Dairy Days. This meeting has been an excellent resource for dairy producers in Missouri to gain knowledge on the industry, and Eric was instrumental in getting sponsorships each year to make it a success.
Eric enjoys woodworking and could be found most nights and weekends in his shop.
With Eric’s retirement his years of experience cannot be replaced. Over the last, almost 40 years there have been many changes to the Missouri Dairy industry, DFA, and the industry as a whole. Eric was counted on by the producers he served and the colleagues he worked with in order to get the job done no matter what it took.
Eric and his wife Jamie now reside in The Villages, Florida. They have two grown children, Erika and James and five grandchildren.
